Fair Park, formally known as the Fair Park Historic District has been home to the Texas State Fair since the late 1800s.  It is a 277 acre plot located just southeast of Downtown Dallas.  A number of the original buildings still stand which were initially built for the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition.  It is the home of the old Cotton Bowl, which annually hosts one of the best rivalry games in college sports, the Texas versus Oklahoma football game. 

Some of the more acclaimed buildings are Music Hall, the African American Museum, Hall of State and the Leonhardt Lagoon.  One of the more famous landmarks, the enormous statue of "Big Tex" burned down in 2012 because of an electrical short in his boot.  Big Tex was quickly rebuilt but this time with more up-to-date wiring.  Antiquated electrical can always cause an increased likelihood of a fire, and subsequently fire damage restoration.  It is always a good idea for a commercial property to have a good fire damage restoration company's name on hand.  Along with fire issues, old building structures can also bring the need water damage restoration. One of the most interesting stories about Fair Park comes from the 1870s Dallas State Fair & Exposition, a precursor of the State Fair of Texas. The fair awarded the “best set of gold teeth” to a young dentist who had just landed from St. Louis named John Henry “Doc” Holliday. At the outset, the award was a windfall for Doc Holliday’s new practice but business quickly went down hill when Doc’s coughing spells laid bare his tuberculosis diagnosis to his patients. Holliday looked for a new line of work, and he found a perfect fit for his undiscovered talents in a local saloon, poker.

Excellent service! They showed up on time and put all my concerns at ease after we had a roof leak that caused mold to start growing in the attic insulation and second floor ceiling. The mold is gone now and everything is just as it was before it happened! The customer service was excellent too, they were so nice and made sure all of my questions were answered. 10/10 experience.
