Tennessee Ridge was originally settled by Scandinavian immigrants, and its economy later grew around fruit orchards and the railroad. While the railroad is no longer in operation, parts of the old rail corridor have been transformed into a walking trail that serves as a reminder of the town's heritage. Many fruit trees still dot the landscape, reflecting the area's agricultural roots.
