Edgemont, South Dakota is a small historic city located in Fall River County. It lies at the southern edge of the Elk Mountains which is where the town gets its motto “To the Black Hills”. Town got its start in 1890 with the building of the Burlington Railroad that ran thought the territory and is considered just one of many historic quaint towns in the Black Hills. It is also the trail head for the famous George S. Mickelson Trail that runs the length of the old Burlington Rail route that was abandoned and removed in 1991 after over 100 years of rail service. The Trail was named after Governor Mickelson who spearheaded the South Dakota Rails to Trails project that began with this trail. Tragically, he was killed in a plane crash in 1993 and never saw the full realization of this project.

My 2015 Ford Explorer Sport sat outside for 8 weeks during Covid19. I didn't need to drive. When I finally started it I found that a packrat or mouse had died into the vehicle's air system. It was undrivable. I mean, it literally was a health hazard. I worked with American Family Insurance. I have full coverage and they suggested SERVPRO. It took several weeks but that was fine. SERVPRO killed the smell plus found three more dead mice under the battery. My beautiful Explorer is perfectly clean now. It looks brand new and now I can enjoy driving it again. What a relief! Thank you SERVPRO and thank goodness I had full coverage insurance with American Family Insurance who was very good about this whole ordeal. Hallelujah.
