Caputa got its start in 1907 when the Milwaukee Railroad was extended to that point. Caputa is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Pennington County, South Dakota, United States. It sits at an elevation of 2,907 feet. The population was 32 at the 2020 census. Ghost towns provide so much insight into South Dakota’s history, and the tiny town of Capa – a ghost town in South Dakota – is no exception. All but abandoned, this ghost town can only be reached via a gravel road… and you’ll travel nine miles from Midland to get there. Once you find it, you’ll be glad you ventured out. It’s a very photogenic little spot, albeit a little bit creepy. Listen to the wind whistling between the withered boards of the abandoned buildings, and you’re likely to have chills up and down your spine! Even though they say Caputa is a ghost town SERVPRO is still happy to serve the area with fire damage restoration, water damage restoration, and mold mitigation. The Caputa had a population of 32 as of July 1, 2022.Caputa ranks in the lower quartile for Population Density and the upper quartile for Diversity Index when compared to the other cities, towns and Census Designated Places (CDPs) in South Dakota. Caputa Alpacas is a free, family-friendly attraction minutes east of Rapid City. they are the only Alpaca farm in western South Dakota. My 2015 Ford Explorer Sport sat outside for 8 weeks during Covid19. I didn't need to drive. When I finally started it I found that a packrat or mouse had died into the vehicle's air system. It was undrivable. I mean, it literally was a health hazard. I worked with American Family Insurance. I have full coverage and they suggested SERVPRO. It took several weeks but that was fine. SERVPRO killed the smell plus found three more dead mice under the battery. My beautiful Explorer is perfectly clean now. It looks brand new and now I can enjoy driving it again. What a relief! Thank you SERVPRO and thank goodness I had full coverage insurance with American Family Insurance who was very good about this whole ordeal. Hallelujah.

SERVPRO came out to clean my carpets and did a great job! We had some pet stains from one of our dogs and just general wear and dirty. The crew was on time, did a great job of getting up the stains and now my carpet looks wonderful! I really appreciate their work!
