The city of Ogontz was named after an Indigenous chieftain. Most of the retail space in town is located on Ogontz ave. Ogontz began to decline in the early 1970s, but revitalization efforts have largely restored it to be an important destination for the surrounding community. The amount of retail space has grown significantly over the last 20 years. Ogontz Hall is a historic combined residential and commercial building complex in town with six large building in total. Ogontz is a mix of commercial and residential space and has been in town since 1929. Kemble park is also located in town and is a favorite of local families.
