Metal Township Pa is located in Franklin County and in 2020 the population was 1,768. Metal was named due to the deposited of metal ores in the area. Some historical landmarks include the Bridge within the township and the iron works house called Mt. Pleasant Metal Works House.
The township is on the western edge of Franklin County. Surrounding counties are Huntingdon and Fulton. The Tuscarora Mountain boarders west and to the east you will find the Kittatinny Mountain. This area is obviously nestled in a valley, Path Valley, to be exact.
The census bureau records that the township has a total area of 44.6 square miles. Of these square miles about 44 of them are land while only about 15 percent is water surface.
