Troutdale, Oregon is a city located in Multnomah County, Oregon. Just North of Gresham, this city is a gateway into the beautiful Historic Columbia River Highway, the Mount Hood Scenic Byway, and the Columbia River Gorge. The city is bordered on the east by the Sandy River. The earliest settlers came to this area came in 1850.
Captain John Harlow purchased land to build a country home along the Sandy River. The name Troutdale, came about because he raised trout in the pond on his farm. Located in the heart of our community is Troutdale Historic Downtown. It is flooded with restaurants, pubs, art galleries, antique stores, and boutique type shopping. Our community precipitation most days of the year apart from a few short summer months. Precipitation is rain, snow, sleet, or hail. With mostly rain, the winters are very wet, cold and overcast. The chance of rain and wet days is very common, which can be a contributor to water damage and mold issues. Summers are dry and clear. In recent years, fires have made their way towards the area and cause fire and smoke damage. July and August are great to visit.
