Helvetia is an unincorporated community near Portland, Oregon. The area was named by Swiss settlers in the 1900s and is currently home to the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals (the largest museum of its kind on the Pacific Northwest with over 20,000 specimens) and the Holcomb Creek Trestle which is the longest wooden railroad bridge still used in the United States. It is also home to some historical pioneer cemeteries and churches, including the Old Scotch Church which is among Oregon’s oldest churches still in use. Roloff Farms is also a popular tourist destination in recent years as the reality TV series Little People, Big World was filmed there.
