Hopewell Junction is a hamlet of the Town of East Fishkill and easily accessible off of I-84, Routes 52, 82 and Route 376 from many other local towns. IBM’s Northeast Headquarters was built just down the road in 1962 as the global giant’s research hub. With that, a housing boom occurred to accommodate all the employees, both travelling in to and living in the area of their headquarters. All types of homes, neighborhoods and shopping popped up to help keep up with the populations needs. This boom helped spread out to other outlying towns and further increased the demographics of the Hudson Valley. While IBM doesn’t operate completely from their anymore, many forward thinking concepts have stepped in to create a conglomeration of retail, industrial, manufacturing, warehousing and other inventive facilities have taken up the old spaces no longer needed.
