Norfolk Nebraska is a city in Madison County Nebraska, located 113 miles northwest of Omaha and 83 miles west of Sioux City. The population was 24,210 at the 2010 census, making it the 9th largest city in Nebraska. Madison County Nebraska has a 7 on the license plate. In late 1865 three scouts were sent from a German Lutheran settlement near Ixonia, Wisconsin, to find productive, inexpensive farmland that could be claimed under the Homestead Act. On September 15, they reached the junction of the Elkhorn and its North Fork and chose that area as a settlement site.? On May 23, 1866, a party of 124 settler set out for northeast Nebraska in three wagon trains. They arrived at the new site on July 15. These collective wagon parties established the first church in Madison County, St. Paul's Lutheran, which is still operating today. The original name of the colony was a variant of "North Fork", but accounts differ on the exact name: "Northfork", "Nor'fork", and "Nordfork" are all suggested. The name was submitted to federal postal authorities, and at some point was transmuted to "Norfolk". Nebraskans typically pronounce it as "Norfork". Norfolk has a single post-secondary educational institution, Northeast Community College, with over 7,000 students taking courses for credit. The Norfolk Public School District has an enrollment of over 4,000 students. There are 7 Elementary schools, 1 preschool, 1 Middle School and 1 Junior High School, and 1 High Schools, Norfolk Senior High School. There’s 1 Catholic Elementary and 1 Catholic High School, called Norfolk Catholic School, they enroll about 650. There are 2 Lutheran Elementary Schools and 1 Lutheran High School that enrolls a total of 470 students. In 1976, Nebraska’s own Gerald Ford was president as our country celebrated 200 years, the first fireworks at Skyview Lake. 2021, they introduced the inaugural 2-day festival with a Friday night Wing Fest, Car Show N Shine and concert, and 2022 marks the 46th anniversary of Big Bang Boom, now known as Boomfest.

I had ripped up carpet and removed it from my basement and upon inspection I noticed a couple of questionable spots along the baseboards. When I contacted SERVPRO at about 8 PM on a Saturday evening the lady connected me with my local SERVPRO business. The gentleman called me within a half hour and stated that he was currently on my side of town at another job and would be able to swing by quickly. I let him know that I had Carpet coming the next day and I needed to know if I had to treat these questionable spots before my install. He conducted a full inspection with his special cameras to identify moisture and looked at the questionable spots. He explained what he saw and that there was no need to treat. SERVPRO was thorough, professional, and courteous!
