Pelahatchie, Mississippi, is a city rich in history. It is important that water damage restoration and fire damage restoration be immediate in the event that an emergency situation arises. Dating back to the time when Mississippi actually became a state, the land that is now Pelahatchie was part of 5,500,000 acres ceded to the United States by the Choctaw Indians in the signing of the treaty at Doak's Stand in 1820. Settlers came from Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and primarily the Carolinas to live there. All of the movement into the area played a part in what is known now as "The Great Westward Movement". Pelahatchie is a Native American word meaning "crooked creek". Pelahatchie barely escaped the march of General Sherman during the Civil War, with Sherman making the decision to follow a road rather the railroad tracks after the fall of Vicksburg. The Alabama and Vicksburg Railroad had come through Pelahatchie in 1858, and the first United States Post Office was established in 1868. Pelahatchie continued to grow in the late 1800's. People would come to the prospering town to trade cotton or other farm goods. Pelahatchie had one of the only three schools in Rankin county, along with a general store, a general mercantile, a hotel complete with stables, and a saloon. Churches and sawmills completed the town, and with so much growth, the time came for Pelahatchie to be put on the map. On June 30, 1904, a government had been established, and Pelahatchie was incorporated. In 1934, the Pearl River Valley Lumber Company Mill, one of four sawmills in the city, caught fire. The mill was never restored, and there was a decline in population afterwards. The poultry industry would soon discover the area, and Pelahatchie would maintain it's charm from that point on, moving forward. Today, Pelahatchie is still a much desired, thriving little city, and many of the beautiful old buildings still stand. Pelahatchie City Hall and Masonic Lodge is on the historical registry, and a great education is available at Pelahatchie Elementary, Pelahatchie Attendance Center, and East Rankin Academy. Tourists and locals flock to the area to enjoy Jellystone Park- Pelahatchie-Yogi on the Lake, a resort with everything from a splash pad to cabins. Water damage restoration and fire damage restoration are close by should water or fire ever threaten the city of Pelahatchie again.
Services We Provide
What our Pelahatchie customers are saying
SERVPRO of Brandon, Richard & John were the most helpful amazing people ever!!!! They were sooo nice & friendly!!! I recommend if you need this service to come here & ask for them!!! 5 stars is an understatement!!!
We had the first floor of our home flood due to a overflowing toilet. After contacting our insurance company SERVPRO of Brandon was at our house within 1.5 hours. The timing was excellent considering we live about a hour from them. Richard & Patrick arrived the first day. They were incredibly professional & hard working. Within two hours they had the flooring out and fans put out to dry the concrete. They answered all questions we had and addressed any concerns. Davie has been coming out to check the fans he too is very professional and thorough. The service we have received has been exceptional. Although we never want anything like this to happen again we would definitely use them if needed.
I would highly recommend Vinny and his staff at SERVPRO of Brandon. They were prompt to address the issue I had, and very thorough and professional as they corrected the issue. If I ever have another issue in the future, SERVPRO will be the one I will call.
I had a bad leak that ruined my bathroom wall, ceiling and the adjacent closet wall. SERVPRO of Brandon was sent to clean up the water damage, dry out what they could and remove the mold infested walls and ceilings. Richard, Derek and Jason were our service technicians. They always provided consistent information along with quality work. They kept us informed the entire time about everything and communicated with our insurance adjuster. Hopefully we never need this type of service again but if we do, SERVPRO of Brandon will be our first call.
SERVPRO of Brandon assisted us with water damage in our home that necessitated their service for 2 solid weeks. In all interactions we had with the team, they were professional, showed up on time and helped us through every aspect of the situation. I would recommend Vince, Derrick, Chris and the other team members to anyone needing these services. Great Experience!
Dear Vince and Derek,

While we didn't actually end up needing SERVPRO (thankfully) - I was so impressed with the service we got from Derek and Vince. Derek came out to see the extent of the damage and gave some great advice - he even came back a few days later to make sure everything was dry. Super professional and courteous. While I hope I don't need them again - I will absolutely call immediately if I do! Great team!
