History-
In the 1840s a community was born in western Itawamba County and became the home for many settlers, including a hatmaker named Moore.
By the time that part of Itawamba was used to create a new county called Lee, the community had a name - Mooreville, named after the hatmaker - and a spirit that has endured even until today.
The history of Mooreville is as rich as any city or town in Lee County, even though the community east of Tupelo has never been able to incorporate into a town. Its heritage is complete with founding families, churches, schools, businesses, and a post office.
While many nearby small schools were closed in the 1950s and '60s because of consolidation, Mooreville remained open and took in many of those students. Even when Mooreville School burned twice, in 1939 and 1959, the community worked together to rebuild it.
Mooreville in recent years has become known throughout the state for its success in high school sports. Mooreville has won team state championships in baseball and basketball, dating back to the Mooreville girls' basketball state title in 1939.

I hired SERVPRO to clean out my air conditioning ducts. (20 years) Kurt and his staff came in, and all of them were very professional, friendly, and appreciative.
