Kenner is the largest city in Jefferson Parish and is the largest suburban city of New Orleans.  It was originally inhabited by the Tchoupitoulas Indians and was where the first Europeans, Rene-Robert Cavelier and Sieur de La Salle arrived when they pulled up to its banks along the Mississippi River in 1682.  In 1855 Minor Kenner officially founded the area which at the time only had a handful of plantations located on it.  The majority of the area was still swamp land and could be very difficult to navigate.

The City of Kenner borders Lake Pontchartrain to the north, Metairie to the east, the Mississippi River to the south, and St. Charles Parish to the west.  Kenner’s growth began after World War II in the late 1940s and early 1950s.  Developers began draining the swampland in the northern half of the city.  During the 1960s the construction of Interstate 10 was developed right through the middle of the city.  All of these things allowed people that wanted to work in New Orleans better access to the city without having to spend extra time traveling.

The City of Kenner is known for its huge population and well as its abundance of businesses.  It has over 13 schools, multiple hospitals, many churches,  several public libraries, lakefront parks, and an international airport.

With its location so close to Lake Pontchartrain, Kenner gets its fair share of lake weather.  This can come in the form of cooler weather coming off the water, as well as wind and storm damage.  One of the other issues that can be a problem is moisture.  Since this area was once swampland, special attention has to be paid to the way these homes are built and also ensuring that the correct moisture barriers are installed.  A damaged foundation can lead to everything from mold growth to structural issues.

Our SERVPRO team is trained to help mitigate any fire or storm damage that your home or business needs.  Let the professionals of SERVPRO make it "Like it never even happened."

What our North Kenner customers are saying

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the excellent quality of work done by your staff. Without worry, I know that I will have a clean cafeteria after you are finished.  It isn't often that you can have a service provider perform the tasks you hired them for and have the job done well. I highly recommend SERVPRO as it is just what you need when you need it.  Their quality of service and responsiveness was top notch.

We had a fire in our home and within hours SERVPRO of Kenner was here. Brian and his team have gone above and beyond to get our house livable and the repairs started. I will always recommend them for mitigation and rebuilding.

Sean and his team from SERVPRO were polite, transparent, and responsive to my needs. My business was flooded by a broken water heater and they did everything they could to get the water out and treat the area so reconstruction could begin. Brent and Colby, Sean's support staff, were extremely compassionate and kind in my time of discomfort and loss. I would recommend this business to anyone who falls into this misfortune. It's difficult enough dealing with business interruption without some sort of support and leadership to get you back to business.
