History of Merriam, Kansas
Merriam was founded in 1872 by settlers from Missouri who were looking for land that wasn't too far from their homes but still had good access to markets and railroads. They quickly established themselves as farmers and ranchers in what was then considered "the wilderness."
Officially Established in 1950, and later reclassified in 1957, Merriam was named after Charles Merriam, an official for what used to be the Kansas City, Fort Scott and Gulf railroad, which ran through the area. While it is incorporated as its own city, Merriam is part of the Shawnee Mission postal designation. Merriam might not be a large city, but it is home to Seaboard Corporation, a company that works in the agricultural sector in a variety of capacities, providing jobs for many people in the Merriam area.

The entire team that came out to my house was outstanding. Dorian came by and did an initial inspection. No later than twenty minutes was his team Daniel, Jesus and Joseph on site setting everything up. Everyone was very transparent and communicated well about ETAs and visits. My damage caused quite a bit of power to be used and I had a late evening work call and my computer was tripping the breaker. Daniel stayed extra late to rewire the machines so I could complete my work call successfully. I would recommend SERVPRO 100%.
This team was phenomenal, got out the very next day and cleaned everything to perfection. They documented everything for us as well, extremely happy with the team!!
