Washington Indiana is located in Daviess County Indiana. Washington is the county seat of Daviess County and has a beautiful courthouse located in the city. The community was platted in 1815 and a railroad was built to go through Washington in 1857. According to the 2010 census, 11,509 people lived in Washington, that number has grown. Washington has much to offer from mom and pop businesses, stores, restaurants, to amazing schools. Some of those schools include Washington High School, Washington Junior High School, Helen Griffith Elementary, Lena Dunn Elementary, North Elementary, and Veale Elementary. The library located in Washington is called the Carnegie Public Library, and is often used by children and adults in the community.
There have been many notable people that are from Washington. A man by the name of Anthony R Jones is a United States Army Lieutenant general. There is also a man from Washington named Eric Bassler who is a member of the Indiana Senate. Many basketball players have come from Washington including David Dejernett, and Leo Klier.

One year ago this month my basement flooded. My insurance agent stopped by and called SERVPRO of Vincinnes right away!! They were there the next morning early and they were there for the next four days with dryers and dehumidifiers and everything that they needed to make sure my basement was safe and not going to grow mold and I really appreciate everything that they did. In today's environment these guys are second to none. We had a mold issue, our furnace vents were cleaned, and the outside of our siding and gutters were cleaned up after mold. They really made it "Like it never even happened."
