Oaktown, Indiana is part of the Busseron Township and part of Knox County in Indiana. The town is small but mighty, in the 2010 census the population was 608. The community was laid out in 1867 and was formally considered part of the regional center of commerce and trade in 1909. Oaktown, Indiana does have two noble residents in it's history. One of the two is James Polk. He is a prize-winning investigative journalist. The second noble person is Dan Beery, a 2004 Summer Olympics Men's Eight Rowing Gold Medalist.
The community has a large church for the size of their community called "Oaktown First Christian Church.' Rich in many members and people willing to do community service projects and help anyone in need. Many small towns in Indiana make up the very best parts of this great state. These communities are filled with kind and friendly people and are extremely welcoming to outsiders.

One year ago this month my basement flooded. My insurance agent stopped by and called SERVPRO of Vincinnes right away!! They were there the next morning early and they were there for the next four days with dryers and dehumidifiers and everything that they needed to make sure my basement was safe and not going to grow mold and I really appreciate everything that they did. In today's environment these guys are second to none. We had a mold issue, our furnace vents were cleaned, and the outside of our siding and gutters were cleaned up after mold. They really made it "Like it never even happened."
