Monroe City, Indiana is a small and quiet town located within Knox County Indiana. It has a small population of 545 and is a quaint town located in Indiana. The city was named after Monroe Alton, one of its founders. Monroe City no longer has any schools, but their students are attending school in a close community in Petersburg Indiana which is also located within Knox County Indiana. The community houses a church called "Apostolic Light House" that is rich in history. Monroe City also has an RV park located right outside of their city limits.

Small towns in Knox County Indiana are such a rich part of this great state we call home. They are the backbone of what holds this state together and are the sense of community that is felt in Indiana.
