Located in the lowest portion of the Fox River Valley basin is the residential community of Sugar Grove Illinois. The community is 10.5 square miles and has a population of under 9,500 people. The village had a large growth burst in the 2000's but has stabilized with zero growth for the last 5 years. here are two notable attractions in this village. The first is the main campus of Waubonsee Community College. The sprawling campus has many walking paths and nature areas. The other is Rich Harvest Farms, which is a top 100 rated PGA golf course. With all those homes, this community needs good fire protection which it gets from the Sugar Grove Fire Protection District. The 30 plus members of full time and paid on-call fire department keep the residents well protected.
