The area known as Hoosier Grove was home to dairy farmers from the 1830s through the 1950s. In the area of Hanover Township, which would become Streamwood, the 1950 Census population was roughly 800 people, scattered across dozens of farms.

But the farms soon gave way to suburbs. With the end of WWII and the Korean War, veterans were buying homes in the countless instant subdivisions that were sprouting up throughout the nation. In many cases, these new communities were largely paid for with money from the GI Bill. Across the country, 11 million new homes were financed with loans from the program. The postwar housing shortage quickly turned into a construction boom. Many of the homes are still in Streamwood today, and SERVPRO is ready to serve the Streamwood community with all their fire and water restoration needs.

Streamwood is bounded by 4,500 acres of beautiful forest preserves on its northern border.  The Poplar Creek Forest Preserve provides hiking, biking, horseback riding and picnic areas.  A wide variety of fresh water fish are located in its streams and lakes.  There is also a restored sample of the original Illinois prairie.

Commercial growth opened along Route 59 with the Sutton Park and Streamwood Crossing Shopping Centers. Streamwood Corporate Center and Phoenix Lake Business Park expanded industrial opportunities in the Village. New housing continued to provide a balance of options for residents. We had a dead sump pump and a soggy basement. I called a couple of other highly rated companies, and after speaking to them, my first thought was ka-ching ka-ching. So i called Servepro. It turned out to be a very smart decision. Cindy in the office explained the process extensively so after the phone call I knew everything i needed to know. We scheduled up a date right away. The communication was excellent and there was no dealing with insurance headache, because Cindy did. I even got a call the day before, and the morning of to confirm. The day of the service I was blown away by the professionalism and skill with which my basement was restored. TJ, Chris, and Brendan did a superb job. They were also very congenial, fair, and honest. I feared the worse, but only needed my carpet cleaned. There was NONE of the ka-ching that I had been warned about. All of the employees involved deserve recognition and a raise in my opinion. If I were employing them I would want to keep from moving for a better deal. Be happy...hire this company!!

TJ and his crew were great. On time, friendly and professional. The entire team was a well oiled machine and completed the mitigation in one business day. All working hard to move wet material without tracking through the house. They barely got the floor matting/ liner they layed wet or dirty. Multiple fans and dehumidifiers are running now to dry out the basement. I will be hearing from their team of follow up inspectors daily. Once basement is dry to ServPro satisfaction the job will be completed. Could not be happier with the service. Thank you again to TJ and his team.
