If you are traveling west on Main St., you might not notice that you entered and left Kaneville Illinois! The village is only .28 square miles, or roughly 180 acres! With a population of approximately 480 people, this is definitely a SMALL village! The activities that are sponsored within Kaneville are hosted by either the United Methodist Church or the local historical society. Being small is not necessarily a negative since the residents tend to know each other and support each other more. Due to its close proximity with other towns and cities, the residents have a wide range of activities to participate in ever season of the year. 

Even though the size of the community is not that large, it has its own fire department to protect the homes, businesses and property of the village.

The climate of Kaneville is very similar to that of the State of Illinois, although with a slightly smaller amount of rainfall. Just like any other community with farmland, rain is a positive and can quickly become a negative. Having the rainfall come in the right amounts at the right times is the trick. When those rains come in just a little too heavy, water damage can become a situation that needs to be dealt with.
