Elwood is a quaint town located in the heart of Will County. Nestled close to Interstate 80 and Interstate 55, the former Route 66 highway passes through the East side of the village.  Elwood is home to The Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, which is the second largest cemetery in the United States consisting of 982 acres of land. Each year there is a Memorial Day Ceremony that brings people from all over to honor the veterans buried here. Also located in Elwood is Lloyd Erickson Park. This beautiful park is located on 40 acres of land and has many amenities including a small lake, basketball courts, picnics tables, a pavilion  and much more. The park even has a Children's Garden which was founded in 1997 and provides educational experiences for anyone who enjoys nature or gardening.
