West of Gainesville on Newberry Road is the charming, quaint city of Newberry.

Newberry recently opened a new outdoor amphitheater to draw crowds of around 30,000 for music festivals, electronic dance events, and assorted live experiences and performances.

An authentic working farm on 325 acres, the homestead consists of 18 buildings, including the family farmhouse with original furnishings, an 1880s kitchen outbuilding, a general store, post office and a cane syrup complex. Park staff in period clothing perform daily chores, raising crops and tending to livestock. Deer, wild turkeys, gopher tortoises, and bluebirds can be seen in the fields.
