Laurel Oaks is a neighborhood located in Sarasota, Florida. It is a residential community that is known for its beautiful homes, lush landscaping, and quiet, tree-lined streets.
The history of Laurel Oaks dates back to the 1960s, when the area was first developed. At the time, the neighborhood was located on the outskirts of Sarasota and was primarily used for agriculture and ranching.
In the 1980s, the area began to be developed as a residential community, with new homes being built and the neighborhood being expanded. Since then, Laurel Oaks has become a popular destination for families and retirees, thanks to its peaceful setting, beautiful homes, and convenient location.

The 813-acre community encompasses 346 homes and 60 villas. Only thirty-five percent of the land has been developed for residential use and was meticulously designed around hammock areas, wetlands and heavily wooded areas which preserve the natural character of the site.
Laurel Oak features two signature-designed 18 hole courses. The West Course was designed by Rees Jones and the East Course was designed by Gary Player.
The Club features a state of the art tennis facility, a heated, six-lane, junior Olympic swimming pool. Dive-in movies and weekly children's camps are special treats during the summer months.
