The Kissimmee was originally named Allendale, after Confederate Major J. H. Allen who operated the first cargo steamboat along the Kissimmee River—the Mary Belle. It was renamed Kissimmee when incorporated as a city in 1883. The modern town, which is the county seat of Osceola County, was founded before the Civil War by the Bass, Johnson and Overstreet families.
The downtown area lies near the intersection of US Highway 17/92 and US Highway 92. The downtown of Kissimmee does not possess any big skyscrapers; most of the buildings are two or three stories high. The biggest and the tallest building in the downtown is the Osceola County courthouse. The main thoroughfare follows along Highway 17/Highway 92 through the city's center and is a combination of three streets: Main Street, Broadway Street, and Emmett Street. The downtown area consists largely of restaurants, small shops, and historic residences. The University of Central Florida, has a business incubator located in the area that is an important part of the economic engine downtown.
The area is surrounded by amusement parks and recreational activities. The city has, in its past, been hit by tornadoes and hurricanes, though this is true for most of Florida. This ideal central Florida location has much to see and do. A great place to live and work in an area with moderate temperatures throughout the year.

What a company. From the great customer representatives, technical experts, knowledgeable supervisors, these guys know how to restore your home from flood damage. They had a massive job on their hands with my Celebration home. There were multiple rooms and floors that had flood damage. But no task seems to be too big or too small for these guys. They were really good at keeping me informed. If they can handle a large multi-floor home like mine, I'm sure they could handle your task also.
