These farms would produce and supply plumes to hat makers which would then be used in women’s fashionable hats during the early 1900’s. The Ostrich Festival is now in its 32nd year and includes music, food, a carnival, arts, crafts, a parade and ostrich races. It’s an event people look forward to not only in Chandler but throughout the valley.
