Saks, Alabama is a census-designated place and an unincorporated community in Calhoun County. The community of Saks is served by the Anniston Police Department and fire department. Saks is included in the Anniston-Oxford Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1970, Saks first appeared on the census, as an unincorporated place of “Anniston Northwest”, later taking its name of Saks in the 1980 census.
The Anniston Museum of Natural History is located just outside of Saks and is an educational place for families to go and learn about our community. There is an elementary school, a middle school and a high school located within the community of Saks. These schools are part of the Calhoun County School Systems. Known as “The Wildcats” at Saks, the athletic program competes in Class 3A for the Alabama High School Athletic Association.
