Crawl Space

The small space between the ground and the underside of the floor in a structure or foundation, typically no more than five feet tall.

Example: Crawlspaces “lift” the first floor of a structure above ground level, providing space for wiring, HVAC systems, and plumbing—above possible flood levels and with easy access.
