Seepage
Seepage is the movement water from one location to another through the tiny holes in a porous material.
Examples: Heavy rain or floodwater builds up in soil and leads to hydrostatic pressure against a home’s foundation. That pressure pushes water through any cracks or holes in the walls or floors to flood your basement. Window wells in a basement can also be a spot where seepage can occur. Problems with gutters and downspouts can bring about seepage as well.
