Elk Mound is a small town in Wisconsin near the border of Minnestoa. A historical landmark, Elk Mound Hill is one of the highest spots in Dunn County. Today, stands a two-story lookout tower was built as a memorial to Dunn County’s deceased rural mail carriers. A Native American legend tells the story of how elk once roamed the area and hunters used the mound to locate the herds of buffalo and elk. Residents and visitors are welcome to visit and look out the tower at the panoramic view of the hills and prairies.
