Elk Mound is a small town in Wisconsin near the border of Minnestoa. A historical landmark, Elk Mound Hill is one of the highest spots in Dunn County. Today, stands a two-story lookout tower was built as a memorial to Dunn County’s deceased rural mail carriers. A Native American legend tells the story of how elk once roamed the area and hunters used the mound to locate the herds of buffalo and elk.
