West Bountiful is a city in Davis County, Utah. About 5,900 people live there. It is to the north of Salt Lake City.
History
James Fackrell Sr. first settled the area in 1848 because of the access to nearby springs and creeks he could use to irrigate the land for farming. The area's rich soil soon brought other farmers who built homes there. In the 1900s, the area attracted wealthy pioneers who built elegant mansions, some of which are still standing.
George Mann brought yellow sweet Spanish onion seeds home from a mission trip in the 1920s and planted them. The onions flourished and led to the town producing 200 to 300 train loads of onions for buyers around the country from 1928 to 1938.
West Bountiful incorporated in 1949 and is now a city of the fifth class. Residents enjoy a rural, quiet, equestrian lifestyle. The town hosts a vibrant commercial district and commuter rail.

The South Davis Recreation Center offers a wide variety of activities, including swimming, softball, basketball and pickleball. The Bountiful Davis Art Center is the premier regional community art center in Weber and Davis counties. Thrill seekers will find 50 rides, a water park, a Wild West-themed village and special events, such as Frightmares at Lagoon Park.
