A Texas Town with A Rich History and a Love of Coffee
The town of Willow Texas is believed to be settled around 1837 by a man named Claude Nicholas Pillot. It was named for a nearby creek. The town was primarily a French settlement, there were also residents of Scottish or English ancestry. The town continued to grow through the 1870’s with the arrival of more people coming from overseas. By 1905 the school had 41 students, but only one teacher.
