A Bit of Rosebud History
The Rosebud community was founded by German-American immigrants, and they built the town site on their tract of land, which they received from the government in 1854 as payment for their service during the Mexican War. The town's name also comes from German origin, named after a town called "Rosenbuettel" located near Paderborn, Germany. Another source states that Rosebud was named after Rose Bud Gulch at the north end of present-day town.
