Unionville is an unincorporated community located in Bedford County, Tennessee. With a population of only 1,394 on the 2020 census, Unionville is home to three separate Bedford County Schools of the fourteen schools that call Bedford County home. Community Elementary School houses classes from kindergarten to fifth grade. Community Middle School teaches children from sixth grade to eighth grade. Community High School is the final of the three schools and teaches students from ninth grade through graduates in twelfth grade. There is also a post office that has been in operation since 1837, which began operation only ten years after Unionville was originally platted in 1827. Unionville was also the birth place of Jim Nance McCord in March of 1979. Jim Nance McCord served as the Mayor of Lewisburg, TN. He then moved on to become a member of the House of Representatives from 1943-1945 before he was named Tennessee's fortieth governor in 1945 where he served a four year term until 1949.

While Unionville is one of the smaller towns located in Bedford County, Tennessee, there are many smaller creeks and ponds that could put its residents more at risk for water or mold damage with the frequent storms that have been known to cause damage in Middle Tennessee. While most picture Tornado Alley as being more towards the Midwest of the United States, in recent years Middle Tennessee has become more of a hotspot for severe weather that can cause favorable conditions for tornadoes and other storm damage.
