Newbern, TN is mostly a sleepy little town that rolls up the sidewalks at dark and is typically a quiet little place. Looks can be deceiving to those on the outside. Newbern more than doubles in size by 8:00 am when over 2300 teachers and students arrive for school (in addition to the other commuting workers). It is estimated that over 6000 vehicles that travel Hwy 77 that connects to the interstate during rush hour.
The city of Newbern was incorporated in 1857 and Chartered in 1858. This is because when the Charter was sent to Nashville to be presented in the fall of 1857 the name of the City “Newbern” was not written on the official charter documents. In February of 1858, the correction was resubmitted for the Official Charter.
Newbern Depot & Railroad Museum is located in a former Illinois Central depot built in 1920. The station was restored in 1992 with private donations and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. Today, the depot houses the museum in the southern part of the building, an Amtrak waiting room, and room for public functions. The town is proud of its railroad heritage and hosts the annual “Depot Days” Festival every September in celebration of Dyer County and the Newbern Depot. Newbern is a flag stop along the Amtrak route to New Orleans.

"I definitely recommend SERVPRO for your flood needs. I came home from work the other day to realize that a pipe had bust and my house looked like an indoor wading pool.
