Medina, TN is a small city in Gibson County located in the south of the county. Medina was founded in 1873 as a result of the railroad coming to Gibson County. In recent years, Medina has become a very attractive place for families to move from its low cost of living and close range to city amenities without the fast pace of city life. Medina is one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation. From 2000 to 2020 the population of Medina has grown more than quadruple the population. A common challenge with growing cities and keeping their “small town vibe” but also making sure there are things to do. Medina has grown so much in the last 20 years with its new school buildings, city park, and splash pad. The Medina Splash Pad has recently been added to 2018 which was grant funded by the state for banks and recreation. The City of Medina found this to be a great way to add more amenities for families and children that may not use the baseball and softball fields but still want to have fun things for them to be engaged in the community.
