Lynchburg is located in Moore County Tennessee and has a population of 6,461 according to the 2020 census. Even though it is a one stop light town, Lynchburg is one of the more widely known small towns in America as it is home to the Jack Daniel's Distillery. Jack Daniel's is the widely popular brand of Tennessee Whiskey manufactured in Lynchburg. Jack Daniel's uses local cave springs as the source for their production of the well-known whiskey.

While Jack Daniel's Distillery may be the most widely known attraction for Lynchburg, they are also home to a historic downtown full of shops and restaurants as well as the Old Jail Museum. The historic downtown square of Lynchburg suffered from a catastrophic fire in December of 1883 that destroyed the courthouse, jail, and several of their main buildings on the square. That did not stop them from rebuilding and creating the historic square that Lynchburg still boasts to this day. They also rebuilt the jail and it now serves as a museum that houses artifacts about Lynchburg and Moore Counties history since the jail shut down in 1990.

With the different water sources that feed Jack Daniel's Distillery as well as the fire that destroyed downtown Lynchburg in 1883, residents know disaster can happen at any time.
