McCormick Cleanup and Restoration

The town of McCormick is located in McCormick county is named after the inventor Cyrus McCormick. In about 1850 gold was discovered where the town of McCormick now stands and was originally home to the Dorn Gold Mine. The Dorne gold mine was eventually bought by Cyrus McCormick in 1869 and at the time of purchase he donated some land for the town which was ultimately named after him. McCormick is a very popular retirement destination as it is close to many great State Parks, large bodies of water and some outstanding golf course communities like Savannah Lakes.
