Sugar Notch is located almost directly in the center of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Incorporated as a borough in the county during the latter half of the 1900th century, Sugar Notch quickly became a popular coal mining community. A few short years after its incorporation, the Lehigh and Susquehanna Railroad, used in the transportation of coal mined within the region, was constructed just outside the small borough, bringing about further community growth. The history of Sugar Notch isn’t all coal mining and railroads. In July 1948, Eleanor Roosevelt visited the borough to dedicate a memorial to the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt.  The FDR Memorial still stands on the corner of Freed and Main street and can be visited by all. The memorial is far from the only place to see, local eateries and shops are sprinkled up and down Main Street and offer fantastic places to stop when in town!

Despite the lack of creeks, rivers, or lakes in the region, properties in Sugar Notch are still susceptible to water damage in many ways. Amazing service! Showed up within an hour of reaching out to them after 600 PM. Brought in all the needed equipment to dry out the floors in our house after a major water leak. Stayed onto of it for 5 days until the subfloor was completely dry. A big concern was mold however they sprayed and sealed the wood to ensure that would not be a problem. Josiah and his team were nothing but curious and made us feel much better about our situation. Hats off to him and the ServPro team.
