There was a Dutch/Swedish village on the site of downtown Perkasie before William Penn’s Perkasie Manor was settled. The township was officially established in 1708. In 1890 there was a massive fire at the Livery Stable, destroying 12 buildings. There was also another fire in 1988 that burned down many of the historic buildings. Nearly all of downtown was damaged due to the fire. Unfortunately, they did not have access to SERVPRO's fire damage restoration at the time. However, we now proudly help the community with all of their fire and water damage restoration needs.
Be sure to drive through the historic South Perkasie Covered Bridge. It was built in 1832 and is one of the oldest bridges in the area. A little known fact about Perkasie is, in the 1900s major league baseballs were produced at a factory in the center of town. They were made here for over 30 years. The Perkasie Airport is another unique site located here. Not many small towns have their own airport. It has been a major part of the community since 1965. Fun activities such as skydiving are offered at the airport. As the community keeps growing on a yearly basis, it is more important than ever that we provide fire and water damage restoration services.
