Greencastle is filled with old fashion charm and Victoria houses among their downtown area. Located near the state line or Pennsylvania and Maryland. You may be familiar with the restaurant called John Allison which is named after a personal friend of whom found the town of George Washington. During the summer visit Martins Mill Bridge park where the locals swim in the stream and kayak or tube down the Conococheague Creek that goes under the Martins Mill Bridge. The bridge is a covered bridge built in 1849 and is 205 feet in length. The bridge was rebuilt after hurricane Agnes destroyed the bridge in 1972 and where the raised the bridge 5 additional feet to prevent it from happening again. Every time Greencastle is impacted by heavy rains you can also see the Conococheague Creek levels rise and impact nearby homes or properties with water damage.
