Shortly after William Penn’s arrived in Pennsylvania. Bala Cynwyd, was settled in the 1680s by Welsh Quakers. The community was originally founded as two separate villages, named for the towns of Bala and Cynwyd in Wales. The Neighborhood Club of Bala Cynwyd has held July fourth celebrations every year since 1916. Residents and visitors can enjoy a parade in the morning and festivities throughout the day. People come to enjoy the music, pony rides, petting zoo, as well as exotic animals. There is also a rock wall and plenty of refreshments. There are also races, games and prizes throughout the day. It's a great day for children and grown-ups to enjoy their community while celebrating Independence Day.
