Manzanita, Oregon is a small (estimated population is 603) coastal city in Tillamook.
Two of Oregon’s historical shipwrecks happened off the Manzanita coast: the Glenesslin in 1913, and the Santo Cristo de Burgos (probably in 1693). The latter ship disappeared, leading to rumors of buried treasure somewhere on Neahkahnie Mountain.
In 1912, developers platted Manzanita as a beach resort, naming it for the manzanita (Arctostaphylos sp.) plants that grow in the area. “Manzanita” means “little apple” in Spanish.
Residents and visitors enjoy strolling along the beach and enjoying spectacular views of the Neahkahnie Mountain to the north. These strolls inspired Oswald West (The 14th governor of Oregon, 1911 to 1915) to declare that the beaches in Oregon should remain free and open to all.
Sandy beaches, surfing, mountain hiking, fishing, and fine dining are all part of a fun-filled weekend in Manzanita. Outdoor activities are possible all year round, and indoor activities are plentiful as well. There are also walking tours for visitors or for residents who want to know the area better – we often take the splendor for granted in places we live.

We waited almost 5 weeks for another contractor to get us a cleaning estimate for cleaning our Lodge facilities after the Camp Fire tore through Paradise only to leave several unanswered messages. One of our Lodge members mentioned that SERVPRO was working right up the street. Woody Nelson approached SERVPRO's Anthony Noble about cleaning the Lodge for smoke and soot damage from the fire. Anthony and Matt were there within 2 hours to see what we needed. We had a detailed, comprehensive estimate to present to the insurance adjustor within a week. Keep in mind that this facility is over 20,000 square feet in area and covers 2 stories. The bid was accepted and cleaning was commenced shortly after. These people brought the necessary resources and personal to complete the cleaning process rapidly, professionaly, safely and cautiously, without damage, while working under some pretty extreme weather conditions, not to mention the complete devastation surrounding us in the town of Paradise. There was excellent communication throughout the arduous process of this huge undertaking.
