While Sunbury used to be considered a small quiet town home to the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial, it is now growing without stop. The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial is in place for all of those who have lost their lives in war since 9/11. Many people come to visit for the memorial but find so much more in the area like the General William Rosecrans Statue in front of the Old Sunbury Village Hall and the home of the Big Walnut Golden Eagles who are often found to have the best football team around (and previously were state champions!). The General Rosecrans statue was put in place since he is from Sunbury and gave his life defending the Union in the Civil War.
