While Richwood is not a very big town, it is the home of the North Union High School Wildcats and their conference and championship winning football and basketball teams. Although, the school is a pretty large school district now you can still drive down Clairborne and see the Old Brick School House where one of the town's original school houses was built and still remains. It is pretty neat to see some of these other historic buildings along the way like, the Richwood Opera House and Town Hall. Richwood Opera House has experienced the need for water damage restoration since the ceiling has began to fall due to winter snow weather over the years. These buildings not only established entertainment in the town, but held the fire departments and local jail up until the early 2000s. Now the Opera House just stands as the focus of restoration to be able to bring this building back to its prime.
