Hello, Woodville 

Located in Wilkinson County, Woodville is one of the oldest towns in Mississippi. It was originally incorporated in 1811, just a few years before Mississippi became a U.S. state in 1817. The area’s rolling hills and open pastures are what originally brought settlers to this area. Additionally, these features have also attracted artists like John James Audubon, who visited the town to paint and document over 26 species of birds for his series, Birds of America. 

Today, Woodville is a small town with a population just under one thousand. This small, thriving community works to preserve its history and provide tourist activities. They have curated the Wilkinson County Museum and annually host the Deer and Wildlife Festival near the Courthouse Square.
