Stonewall Mississippi is located in the heart of Clarke County. Conveniently located between Meridian and Laurel.
Stonewall was founded as a mill town. The old Burlington buildings and homes are all around town. Even after the Burlington mill closed down in the early 2000’s a new business moved into the old buildings and continued the Stonewall tradition of clothes making.
Stonewall has many historic buildings including the town hall, which was the main school in the 1920's. The town hall is also home to the Stonewall historic society and library.
The few businesses that are in Stonewall are beloved by its residents. The community is very excited about the new bbq going into the old A&M buildings. The Dollar General is the place to meet your neighbors and talk for a while.
Stonewall is home to the Clarke County Mardi Gras Parade, along with the 4th of July and Christmas Parades. Many of the county's residents participate in the parades with cars, horses and 4 wheelers.
Driving through Stonewall you will see multiple mill houses. Most of these houses where built as early as 1900! They are lovingly cared for by their owners and SERVPRO of Meridian is always available to help with fire and water clean-ups.
The softball and baseball fields are a huge drawl to the area. A local tradition of children starting t-ball proudly wearing the Burlington Green is still going strong. During the spring most of the town will be at the fields cheering on the home teams.
