Willie Magee built a grist mill on Little Goodwater Creek, thus growing the community; it was incorporated as a village in the 1900’s. Robert Solomon Magee was the first Post Master in Magee and this is how the city got its name. The only municipal airport in Simpson County is located in Magee.
