In May of 2020, the city of Florence, MS, drew national attention when the documentary "The House In Between" was released by the popular Ghost Nation from The Travel Channel. It documented a property over a three year period that was reported to have supernatural occurrences regularly. Although it may have been the nation's first time to hear about Florence, it is a very popular city with Mississippians. Located in southeast Rankin county, Florence is the 12th fastest growing city in the state. With vast history regarding Native American settlements in the area, Florence was originally known as Steen's Creek. It was named for the first family known to have traveled from South Carolina to settle in Mississippi. Florence would eventually be renamed with according to an interesting story. In 1900, Steen's Creek was thriving as a producer of cotton when The Gulf and Ship Island Railroad Company would announced it would be building a line to run from Jackson to Gulfport, and the tracks would run straight through Steen's Creek. W. Ellis Sr. was the son of a wealthy business owner, Sam Ellis, who had migrated to Steen's Creek and bought the grocery store, race track, and other businesses. W. Ellis Sr. proposed to the railroad company that he would donate the land for a train depot IF the city could be renamed for his wife, Florence. The construction of the First Baptist and Methodist churches further solidified the community, as well as began to form the beginnings of what would become the educational system for the area. Florence, MS, would steadily grow until the 1970's, and then it began to boom. Today, Florence is the destination for original shopping, dining, and entertainment experiences, some like Berry's Seafood, Spinner's Bowling, and the Emporium Antiques and Vendors Mall draw regular crowds from across the state. We had the first floor of our home flood due to a overflowing toilet. After contacting our insurance company SERVPRO of Brandon was at our house within 1.5 hours. The timing was excellent considering we live about a hour from them. Richard & Patrick arrived the first day. They were incredibly professional & hard working. Within two hours they had the flooring out and fans put out to dry the concrete. They answered all questions we had and addressed any concerns. Davie has been coming out to check the fans he too is very professional and thorough. The service we have received has been exceptional. Although we never want anything like this to happen again we would definitely use them if needed.
I would highly recommend Vinny and his staff at SERVPRO of Brandon. They were prompt to address the issue I had, and very thorough and professional as they corrected the issue. If I ever have another issue in the future, SERVPRO will be the one I will call.
I had a bad leak that ruined my bathroom wall, ceiling and the adjacent closet wall. SERVPRO of Brandon was sent to clean up the water damage, dry out what they could and remove the mold infested walls and ceilings. Richard, Derek and Jason were our service technicians. They always provided consistent information along with quality work. They kept us informed the entire time about everything and communicated with our insurance adjuster. Hopefully we never need this type of service again but if we do, SERVPRO of Brandon will be our first call.

While we didn't actually end up needing SERVPRO (thankfully) - I was so impressed with the service we got from Derek and Vince. Derek came out to see the extent of the damage and gave some great advice - he even came back a few days later to make sure everything was dry. Super professional and courteous. While I hope I don't need them again - I will absolutely call immediately if I do! Great team!
