Kahoka is a city in and the county seat of Clark County, at the northeast tip of Missouri. Kahoka was platted in 1858. The city is named for the historic Cahokia tribe of the Illiniwek or Illinois Confederacy, which occupied territory on both sides of the Mississippi River in this area at the time of the European encounter. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.60 square miles, of which 1.57 square miles is land and 0.03 square miles is water. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,961.
The Clark County Courthouse, Col. Hiram M. Hiller House, and Montgomery Opera House are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
