When Water-Fire-Storm Damage Happens in Hannibal, We're Ready.

Hannibal is a city along the Mississippi River in Marion and Ralls counties in Missouri. According to the 2020 U.S. Census, the population was 17,312, making it the largest city in Marion County. Founded in 1819 by Moses D. Bates, the river town soon flourished as a principal docking port for steamboats, flatboats, and packet steamers traveling the upper Mississippi. By 1845, Hannibal had achieved city status and by 1860, the population had more than doubled, making it the second largest city and third commercial center in Missouri. The bulk of the city is in Marion County, with a tiny sliver in the south extending into Ralls County.

Hannibal is one of Missouri’s and the region’s best tourism destinations. As the boyhood home of Mark Twain, Hannibal is famously known as the setting for Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. But there are also trains and ghost tours and caves and so much more.

But, the river community is best known as the mid-19th-century boyhood home of author Samuel Langhorne Clemens (aka Mark Twain, 1835-1910). Twain drew from his childhood settings for his novels The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884). Numerous historical sites are associated with Mark Twain and the places depicted in his fiction.

Heritage tourism contributes to the Hannibal economy, as the city attracts both American and international tourists. The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum marked its 100th anniversary in 2012; it has had visitors from all 50 states and some 60 countries. Most Hannibal residents enjoy the visitors and the town at large benefits from tourism revenue.

Unfortunately, even Hannibal can be struck by water and flood damage, fire damage, mold infestations, and biohazards. So, when residents and business owners in the Hannibal area need a premier cleanup and restoration company, SERVPRO is prepared to help. What our
Hannibal customers are saying

One the team members, Zach, complimented my home despite the basement having been flooded and all of the carpet needing to be pulled. It reminded me that we still have an amazing house. Devon, a supervisor, also complimented the home. They worked hard and cleaned well and were as transparent as they could be.

John Johnston

Joan Groom

Great job, Zach, jayxe, Aidan, Maggie! Very professional and exact on job and how all was done!

Diane Kocher

Tim was able to quickly and professionally help with mitigation of flooding through an egress window in the basement. He also provided direction for me to do some of the work myself saving me hundreds.

Steve

The crew from Quincy are the ones who worked on my water problem and they did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone. I had to use the Hannibal QR code instead of the Quincy one because the Quincy code doesn’t work!

Mike Buckert

The men who worked on my home were amazing !! Nick and Steve (I think their names were Nick & Steve) put my flooring in sooo beautifully! Every crew who came in and out of my home were knowledgeable and so helpful

Amber Reed
